The Nokia India recently won the prestigious Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2010 and the credit are goes to the Nokia India Manufacturing Plant, Chennai. The award was announced on the 1st December'2010.
The Golden Peacock Environment Management Award instituted by the World Environment Foundation(WEF). The Nokia India Manufacturing Plant, Chennai got the award under the Telecom/IT-Hardware category. Recently the Award is distributed in the function held in the National Liberal Club in London in the first week of December'2010 and the Senior Global Campaign Manager of Nokia Kirsty Britz on behalf of Nokia India.
Some of the key factors on which the award is selected is like Environmental governance, Legal compliance, activities on environment protection and many more. In the year 2010 more than 380 organizations applied for the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2010 and out of these only Nokia India got the award. It is a very big achievement for Nokia India.
