Nokia will slash 300 Jobs in India by end of the year 2012

The Nokia is the world’s largest cell phone maker where approximate 10000 employees are working in India. Recently the Nokia said in a news that up to 300 jobs will cut in India by the end of the year 2012.





The company lay-off 4000 people (employee) globally and out of these 3000 jobs will be moved to Accenture. The Accenture is taking care of all the Nokia’s Symbian Software related activities. The employee who are working on Symbian will be transferred to Accenture. In India, the 300 jobs will be cut from the Research & Development segment of Nokia India.

Most of the Symbian related employee will be transferred to US Accenture. The Nokia also given some to those who are losing their jobs. In a statement the President and CEO of Nokia Stephen Elop said that “The company is offering those who are losing their jobs a range of options such as individual re-employment support and re-training to making investments to promotr innovation and working with a variety of partners to create new opportunities.”
